How To Stay Motivated With Your Exercise Routine

I do know that some people struggle with the commitment part of their exercise routine. I say regularly to my online Pilates clients that consistency is key. However, what happens if the consistent part is where you fall off track. Here are a few tips to try if you need a little nudge to get your butt in gear.

  1. Reward yourself. If you do an online Pilates class, go for a walk or complete an exercise routine, allow yourself a treat after. Maybe it is a glass of wine, a Starbucks coffee, or watch your favourite TV show. Whatever you look forward to – save it for after your exercise routine.
  2. Find a friend or family member to exercise with. I know personally, I like to go for hikes with my family. I struggle to go on my own but if I have a family member with me the time goes by quickly. This is my daughter and me below on a hike which helps to keep me motivated.

3. Layout your mat with any props you like to use in any area of your house where you like to workout. Maybe you like to workout in the morning, so the night before lay your mat out next to your bed. The following day you just need to roll out of bed to get moving. It doesn’t have to be a long routine. Small routines matter. 4. Lastly, make yourself accountable to someone. I tell my clients if they are struggling to do my recorded online Pilates classes  –  sign up for my live online classes. Show up and know that I am taking notice and make yourself accountable to me. I notice when you are there and not there 🙂

Pilates is an amazing body science that builds strength in your back, core, hips, and shoulders all while improving balance. I love to see how confident my Pilates clients feel once they commit to online Pilates practice.
